Privacy Policy

On 25.05.2018, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”) entered into force, which establishes new rules for the processing of personal data common to all Member States of the European Union.

If you have contacted WWF Slovakia by email, subscribed to our newsletter, or are a visitor to our website, you are entrusting us with some of your personal data. We need it to disseminate information about our conservation activities and to share it with you.

This information will explain who we are, how we process your personal data, and what your rights are in relation to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who are we?

We are part of WWF Central and Eastern Europe (WWF Central and Eastern Europe, Ottakringer Str. 114-116, 1160 Vienna, Austria). Our office is located at Medená No. 5, 811 02 Bratislava, Slovak Republic. We are the processor of your personal data if you have provided it to us. We take care to process your personal data in accordance with the relevant legislation (in particular the Data Protection Act and the Data Protection Regulation) and this information.

When do we process your personal data?

We process your personal data when:

  • you have subscribed to our newsletter,
  • you have been a participant in an event we have organised and you have provided us with your data,
  • you have contacted us by email,
  • you are a visitor to our website.

What personal data do we process?

  • In most cases, we process your email address, or your first and last name, and in some cases also your telephone number or other contact details. This is routine information that arises from our communications with each other.

For what purpose do we process your personal data?

  • To inform you about our activities by sending you emails (newsletters) and/or to answer questions you have sent us. In each newsletter there is an option to unsubscribe.
  • For the purposes of managing our website and social media accounts, in order to communicate with you as effectively as possible.

 
How do we collect your personal data?

We obtain your personal data mainly on the basis of the consent you have given us and on the basis of our communications with each other. We also use cookies on our website. They help us to communicate with our visitors by collecting and reporting information anonymously. You can disable the downloading of cookies by adjusting the settings of your internet browser. We process your personal data for as long as is necessary, as long as the purpose of processing lasts. If you subscribe to our newsletter, you can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link found in each newsletter you receive. You can also notify us of your decision by email to info@wwfsk.org 
 
How do we protect personal data?

We protect the personal data in our possession from leakage or misuse. Files containing personal data are password protected and can be accessed by a limited number of employees and associates. We use dedicated company products to secure certain activities (e.g., sending out mass email communications). These are called intermediaries and may come into contact with your personal data. These are mainly companies such as Google or MailChimp.

We process personal data in the countries of the European Union. Some of our processors (e.g. Google or MailChimp) may also process data in third countries (outside the European Union). We make sure that we work with processors that are professional companies that protect personal data at the highest level.

 
Your rights:

You have broad rights in relation to the protection of your personal data:

  • You have the right to ask us to erase your personal data that we process. In this case, we will delete all your personal data that we hold from the databases that we and our processors operate.
  • If something changes and your personal data is no longer up-to-date, you have the right to ask us to correct the incorrect personal data we are processing.
  • You have the right to restrict the purpose or scope of processing of your personal data.
  • You have the right to ask us for access to your personal data that we process.
  • You have the right to object to the processing of personal data we process for legitimate interest purposes and also for direct marketing purposes.
  • You have the right to request the transfer of your data to another entity.
  • You have the right to withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data. Once we have received your revocation, we will no longer process your personal data. Withdrawal of your consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing we carried out prior to your withdrawal.
  • You have the right to lodge a complaint about unlawful processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time with your complaint or you can file it with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic.
